I'll stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the novice remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers met for the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
