19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with former mentor Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
It is the player's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.
The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at 21 various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
His retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led some to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour victory, took control to force a final set.
The opponent defended four initial opportunities in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
